Dana White's Contender Series saw six fighters walk away with UFC contracts even though the night was light on finishes. Two of the six actually lost their bouts, which some are taking as proof that White is still willing to reward a good scrap over a clean record.

Alvi Dasuyev kept his unbeaten record intact with a unanimous decision over Jaden Ortega and earned his contract in the process. He was candid about what kept the fight on the scorecards instead of ending early, saying jet lag cost him a finish. Of Ortega, Dasuyev said, "I hate that guy."

Damian Piwowarczyk, a standout out of KSW, needed just one round to get his contract, stopping his opponent via first round TKO according to Sherdog's report.

The other lost fight to make the cut belonged to Callum Connor. He dropped his decision to Piero Guaylupo, but the three round firefight left both men in rough enough shape that they were hospitalized afterward, per LowKick MMA. White apparently didn't care who had his hand raised, only that the fight was worth putting on national television, and Connor got his deal anyway.

Six contracts for one night of mostly decisions is a lot for a show built around highlight reel finishes, and it says something about how deep White is willing to dig into the Contender Series pool this season. Sherdog's own recap of the card noted how unusual it was to see that many deals handed out with so few knockouts or submissions on the card.

The signings are already generating chatter, with many fans weighing in on which of the six new signees might make the fastest impact once they land in the UFC.
