Israel Adesanya has been training at Alexander Volkanovski's gym in Australia, according to The Body Lock, marking his first known camp move since parting ways with City Kickboxing.

The split comes after a brutal stretch for Adesanya, who has reportedly suffered multiple losses recently. His most recent outing came on March twenty-eighth, two thousand twenty-six, when Joe Pyfer finished him by knockout in the second round at the four minute eighteen second mark. That skid has dropped him to number nine in the middleweight rankings, and our Elo model, built from his last six bouts, has him sitting at one thousand four hundred forty-three, a steep fall for a former champion.

Volkanovski, by contrast, is walking into his own camp on solid footing. He remains the reigning featherweight champion and carries an Elo rating of one thousand five hundred five from his last six fights. He is reportedly booked to face Movsar Evloev at UFC three hundred thirty-three on October twenty-fourth, two thousand twenty-six, with the fight currently priced at minus one hundred eight. Our own model has that one basically dead even, giving Volkanovski a forty-seven percent confidence rating heading in, which tells you just how tight that matchup is expected to be.

For Adesanya, linking up with Volkanovski's camp is as much about environment as it is about technique. Leaving City Kickboxing, the gym that built his entire UFC run, is a significant break, and training alongside a fighter of Volkanovski's caliber and current form gives him access to championship level sparring while he tries to figure out his next step. Whether this becomes a permanent home or just a stopover while Volkanovski prepares for Evloev, it is the clearest sign yet that Adesanya is rebuilding his approach from the ground up after a series of defeats.
