The UFC heavyweight division is in limbo after Tom Aspinall exited the belt, and Jon Jones is making sure everyone knows he's paying attention. Sherdog reports Jones has taken multiple digs at Aspinall since the Brit's exit, and Bloody Elbow is asking the obvious question: is Jones trolling his way back into title contention?

He might have backup for that idea. Gable Steveson, Jones's training partner in Albuquerque, told Bloody Elbow that watching the belt open up "put another fire into him," adding that he's seen what Jones can still do and believes he can still perform at the highest level. Steveson also weighed in on who should actually get the shot, saying he thinks Ciryl Gane deserves the undisputed title because Gane has beaten everybody except what he called the sport's infinity stones, Francis Ngannou and Jones himself.

Steveson has his own business to handle first.

Meanwhile Dana White skipped the media session ahead of Dana White's Contender Series, and Bloody Elbow notes fans are speculating online that he's dodging questions about Aspinall and UFC 332. That silence is only adding fuel to a heavyweight picture that's already crowded with opinions. We're hearing that some in the sport are dismissing Alex Pereira as the answer and instead backing Josh Hokit, who our rankings have at number four in the division after knocking out Derrick Lewis in the second round back in June.
