Bishop Dethrones Carmouche to Claim PFL Flyweight Title

Bishop topped Carmouche in a women's flyweight title fight at PFL Chicago, according to Combat Press.

The Professional Fighters League made a stop in Chicago on Friday, October 16, running its card from Wintrust Arena with a women's flyweight title fight headlining the night. According to Combat Press, Bishop got the better of Carmouche to take the flyweight belt.

The card followed PFL's usual two stream format, with prelims airing live on ESPN+ starting at 6:30 p.m. ET before the main card moved to ESPN2 at 11:00 p.m. ET.

A title change at flyweight is always worth paying attention to, since it resets the picture at the top of the division and puts every other contender on notice that the champion they were gunning for is no longer the one holding the belt. Carmouche's reign is now over, and Bishop steps into the role of PFL flyweight champion as the new measuring stick for the weight class.

Combat Press is so far the outlet with the result on record, and as more details on how the fight played out surface, the bigger picture for PFL's women's flyweight division should come into focus. For now, what's confirmed is straightforward: Bishop beat Carmouche in Chicago to become the promotion's new flyweight titleholder, closing one chapter at 125 pounds and opening another.
